- I used to do billing and payroll and property management for a family who owned a couple of businesses. One of their businesses was a huge "adult" store with zillions of dollars worth of inventory. My office was housed in their tax-write-off business which was a beautiful women's clothing boutique. In any case, I would be sending off checks for thousands of dollars worth of Lucite heeled stripper shoes and porn flicks called "Poke-a-hot-ass" (instead of Pocahontas. Get it? It still makes me laugh)

- In a split level in the suburbs where I am bound and determined not to get to know my neighbors. Hello!! Did anyone see American Beauty? Kevin Spacey got killed by his stupid, crazy neighbor. However, he did have the gay couple who brought over the food basket. Ok. I would like to have them as my neighbors.

- Any awards show. I love that shit. I especially like the Golden Globes because they have a Miss Golden Globes which I think is hilarious and everybody is drinking so when they get up to accept an award they sometimes say the damnedest things. Plus there aren't any boring technical awards or costume awards.
- Kathy Griffin; My Life on the D List.
- Gray's Anatomy although it makes me terrified to get sick and need hospitalization of any kind.

- Disneyworld (I have kids, what can I say? However, it is really a happy place. I don't know that it's The Happiest Place on Earth, but it's pretty happy.)

- I really like a good banana split. I haven't indulged myself in one for a while, but I feel inspired to do so soon.
- I love a good Chicken Marsala made with dry Marsala, not the sweet kind.
- A fabulous steamed artichoke. Maybe one from Jim's garden.
- Johnny Depp. You can prepare him any way you want and he would still be yummy.

Oh! WHen you have Johnny Depp for dinner can I come over, too?
I am a huge foodie (not a fat foodie).
But once a year, I go back to my roots and today is the day.
Weiner Wednesday for the 4th of July! We will also be having potato salad, baked beans and chocolate zuchinni cake.
Of the two artichoke plants, one has ended its season and been cut back. The other probably has about 5 more chokes to go for this season.
we have a gay couple as neighbors. it is awesome. they are on one side and a creek and a preschool is on the other so it is the perfect possible arrangement. the guys are very nice, listen to good music, dote on our son, don't mow the lawn more often than we do, tell us the occasional dramatic personal dramas, all the best possible neighbor things. And having a school next door is great 'cause we are gone all day and never interact with them. I think you'd like our neighborhood. :) (add to that the aging hippies on the street, the lack of streetlights, no sidewalks, beater cars in one of the most affluent towns in the US.. i really love this place!)
Hey, we are "the gays" in my neighborhood! We moved here exactly one year ago from 6 blocks away.
We moved from super gay West Hollywood (remember 6 blocks) to a super orthodox Jewish neighborhood.
Fast forward to a year later and we have the nicest yard on the block next to the worst. Neighbors from up and down the street stop and thank us for what we've done for the beautification of the 'hood.
As for me, I'm a bit like Carolyn when it comes to neighbors. I tend to hide in the house and force the husband to talk to them. I just want to be left alone.
I guess that's why I planted all those sunflowers that are about 7' tall now...
how much longer are those kids out of school for? You must have a very full summer... hope all is well.
